This is a wine that goes well with grilled and roast meats, game and spicy cheeses.
Production area
Sandy, warm and deep soils such as the ones we find in the area called Bassa Atesina Unterland are ideal for Lagrein. The Lagrein vine is native to South Tyrol and grows throughout the Val d'Adige, where it uses the high degree of thermal movement to develop fine, intense fragrances. It is a late-ripening grape and its traditional pergola cultivation (to reduce the risk of excessive sun on the grapes) is slowly making way for the espalier method. .
Vinification
Destemming and fermentation with maceration at controlled temperature in steel vats. Subsequent malolactic fermentation. Maturation and refinement in oak cask for eight months.
