"Gschleier" is certainly one of the best-known winegrowing areas of the Alto Adige. In fact, our vines are between 80 and 110 years old, which makes them unique. The vines grow at an altitude of 450 m above sea level, in lime, clay and gravel soil.
Vinification
After destemming and gentle pressing, the grapes are taken to the steel fermenting vats (100 hl), complete with pumpover system to increase the level of extraction from the grape skins. Maceration on the skins lasts 10-15 days. After fermentation (100% malolactic) the must is matured for 9 months in in large oak cask. It is refined in the bottle for 3/5 months before it can be sold.
