Cantina Girlan - South Tyrol, Italy

Patricia Pinot Noir

This Pinot Noir is a variegated wine with an excellent, markedly fruity structure. Thanks to its full-bodied, velvety structure, this wine is an excellent choice for drinking with meat dishes.

Patricia-Pinot Noir 2010 Alto Adige DOC

VINTAGE
2010

CLASSIFICATION
Alto Adige DOC

PRODUCTION AREA
On the sunny slopes of Mazzon, above Egna, which are south-west facing, winegrower Mrs. Patricia Von Elzenbaum runs the “Astmayer-Hof” vineyards. The clay and lime soil is ideal for Pinot Nero, giving it a velvety softness and an elegant structure.

WINEMAKING
The grapes are picked by hand and placed in small containers to prevent excess pressure on the grapes. Destemming and slow must fermentation (12-15 days) in stainless steel tanks (gravity-flow). Malolatic fermentation and aging for 15 months partly in big wooden barrels, partly in barrique and 6 months in the bottle.
