Awarded
Thanks to its delicate, fresh and at the same time, full flavour, Plattenriegl Pinot Bianco is the perfect wine for a host of different occasions. It is an ideal accompaniment for hors d’oeuvres and fish dishes as well as being very popular as an aperitif.
Production area
The Plattenriegl vineyard is located in the area above San Michele/Appiano at an altitude of some 550 metres. With a longer maturation period, this position allows the Pinot Bianco grape to develop its delicately aromatic flavour in an optimum manner. The gravel-lime soil from the nearby mountains of Mendola makes a firm contribution to the soft, full flavour of this wine.
Vinification
Soft pressing. Fermentation at controlled temperature in stainless steel vats. Vinification with selected yeasts in large wooden barrels (25%) and stainless steel vats (75%). One part (approx.40%) is continued with malolactic fermentation.
