Vintage 2025 – Early Bloom, Compact Harvest, and Promising Quality
The 2025 vintage began with an early bloom and ideal summer conditions – a truly promising start. Despite a brief heatwave after flowering, the grapes remained compact and healthy. A well-balanced July with moderate temperatures and sufficient rainfall helped preserve the natural acidity – essential for fresh, structured white wines. A dry and warm August then added concentration and aromatic depth.
Harvest began at the end of August and, due to humid weather in September, required patience and precise timing – both of which were rewarded. Never before had the harvest been so compact: it started on August 29 and finished as early as October 9.
Conclusion: An exciting vintage with clear highlights. Among the whites, Chardonnay and Sauvignon impress with freshness, harmony, and aromatic intensity. Among the reds, Vernatsch and Pinot Noir stand out for their elegance and finesse.

Challenging meteorological conditions, promising quality!
After July continued to be characterized by above-average rainfall, August brought dry and warm weather. This weather condition continued until the beginning of September, before temperatures dropped down significantly in the middle of the month. From this point onwards, the phenolic ripening of all grape varieties progressed very slowly. At the end of September, heavy rainfall set in, which had a negative impact on the harvest of Vernatsch and the late-ripening red varieties. It was not always possible to achieve full ripeness here. On the other hand, this rainfall had a very positive effect on our late harvests Gewürztraminer and Moscato Rosa.
Overall, it has been a challenging year that required a lot of work and effort. Despite the challenges, we look forward with confidence to a high-quality harvest and promising young wines. In terms of quality, the white wines and the Pinot Noir variety, which benefited from the lower harvest volumes, stand out in the 2024 wine year.
