"Schiava grown in pergola vineyards of around 30 years old in Girlan and Colterenzio at an elevation of 450 m above sea level on morainic soils. Fermented in stainless steel and MLF in large oak barrels in which it was aged for five months.
Just mid ruby. Ripe raspberry nose with plenty of depth and with hints of cherry liqueur and what looks like oak. Racy savoury raspberry fruit with a layer of grainy tannins adding lots of interest. Elegant and with real bite on the finish. Complex and long." (WS)

GSCHLEIER ALTE REBEN Vernatsch 2018
"From a pergola-trained vineyard of between 80 and 110 years old at an elevation of 450 m above sea level in the Gschleier cru in Girlan. Soils are limestone, clay and gravel. Fermented in stainless steel. Total skin-contact time around 20 days. Aged for nine months in large oak casks and a further six months in bottle. The wine has exceptional ageing potential of at least 10 years and regularly double that.
Lustrous but just mid ruby. Subdued nose of minerally stony raspberry fruit. Deep and complex. Elegant palate of juicy raspberry fruit with serious, finely ground tannins. Just at the beginning of its development. Lots of class. A monumental Vernatsch." (WS)
