Robert Parker 96+ Points | Pinot Noir Riserva Vigna Ganger 2012
This ia a new wine from Girlan that represents a prolonged search for the best vineyard site for the production of Pinot Noir. The 1.6-hectare Ganger vineyard (at 360 to 380 meters above sea level) is one of the prized gems of the Mazzon (Mazon in German) subzone. The 2012 Alto Adige Pinot Noir Riserva Mazon Vigna Ganger represents one of the region's most concrete new attempts at specific vineyard designation definition. Alto Adige has a long ways to go in this regard. The wine is absolutely beautiful with an impeccable sense of finesse and depth. It offers more and more the longer you contemplate the bouquet. Wild berry is backed by tar, licorice and red rose. The mouthfeel is super silky and long. This is a lovely wine that is just at the beginning of a long life ahead.
Girlan offers an inspirational taste of Alto Adige.
